Archer Career EdTech Fellows


A selective, post-baccalaureate program designed for passionate, forward-thinking individuals eager to engage in the EdTech industry. Over 6-12 weeks, fellows will engage in hands-on, experiential learning, and professional development activities that prepare them for a thriving career to enter the workforce and to pursue careers in educational technology, today or in the future. This fellowship is perfect for those ready to innovate, lead, and make a meaningful impact on the future of education, a start-up, and early career professionals.

The Archer Career EdTech Fellowship is our flagship opportunity for postbaccalaureate who want to learn how to use cutting-edge technology tools in behavioral science, learning pedagogy, data science and artificial intelligence to tackle societal challenges in education and career management. This 6-12 week program invites you to explore these topics with a lively, tight-knit community of peers and mentors, structured assignments, and professional development. Whether you want to become an entrepreneur, advocate for public policy, or work in the technology sector, the Archer Career EdTech Fellows program provides you with the skills, perspectives, and community necessary to accelerate your ambitions and launch your career.

You are the voice of Archer Career and that gets integrated into your project and the broader work Archer is doing.

What You Will Learn and Contribute

Professionalism

You will have a 1-week onboarding which provides the History and Current focus of Archer Career, an overview of our why and solution, and our tools. This also reviews expectations, communications approaches, and an immersion into our product as our customer - the learner.

Problem Solving

You will be assigned a specific project, combining Archer Career priorities and your individual interests. You will create a project plan, conduct research, develop a framework, identify key issues, and work to create a solution - a deliverable. It is not a binder. We will use it!

Technology Fluency

You will work with Archer’s internal tools and our EdTech platform, as well as several AI tools we use. You can based on your interest, select an AI platform or emerging technology to research and potentially prototype or pilot during your fellowship. Learning is about experimenting!

Eligibility Criteria

Three criteria for eligibility are:

  1. Recent graduate (or soon to be recent graduate) from an undergraduate program

  2. Have definitive plans post-graduation - typically, either full-time employment, graduate school. or fellowship

  3. Able to commit to 15-20 hours per week during the Archer Career EdTech Fellows Program.

We welcome applicants from all academic, professional, geographic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds. We particularly encourage women and individuals from underrepresented communities to apply. 

*** Our program can be done remotely but preference will be given to individuals based in Chicago.

We look for individuals with quality career and job search skills.

These are the application and selection procedures:

  2. Conduct a meeting to discuss the Fellows program, your career goals, interest, and impact to Archer Career.

  3. Complete a real-world assignment - this is focused on research and writing. You will receive a $25 giftcard as a thank you for your work on this activity.

  4. Based on the assignment deliverable, you will be notified of the outcome. Decisions are made on a rolling basis, with 2-3 fellows per term.
