We are hiring Product manager. You will join our start-up team to drive our current growth objectives, and be the founding Product Manager for the team.

About the job

In broad terms, your role will be heavily involved in planning, executing, and leading product management at our early stage of growth. In September 2020, we launched our software MVP and already have several customers using our 2 applications - Archer Job Search and Archer Case Prep. We several strategic partnerships in place with leading academic institutions (Chicago Booth, Univ. of Chicago, Babson, UT Austin, Johns Hopkins, Univ. of Wisconsin and a few more nearly finished!).

Your work as an Product Manager will be to collaborate with our engineers, designers, data scientists, and more to bring a new set of features and content to our Archer users, with the following expectations.

  • Leadership - Lead a cross-functional team of engineering, design, and data. You'll uncover key user insights through data and heuristics to guide product definition, strategy, and long-term vision for features and initiatives.

  • Application development - Drive both 0-1 new feature development as well as incremental improvements to existing features

  • Measurement - Develop and measure success metrics after release. Consistently integrate behavior data and customer feedback into essential product decisions.

  • Requirements - Identify key customer/user requirements and translate them into stories, documenting thoroughly

  • Research - Conduct user research, usability studies, data-driven experiments to inform product direction

  • Communicate - Be proactive in communications, (verbally and written) with a diverse set of stakeholders to set and adjust expectations

  • Market Feedback - Bring ideas to the Archer team that you hear from discovery. Help our team determine ever better ways to support job searches and career advancement, via scalable approaches.

  • Contribute - Engage with our energetic team that is fully committed to the careers of others, invest in the future of Archer Career to advance our organization and make us a “great place to work” where our First Principles are actions, not words.

The role and compensation

We anticipate, based on the individual interests/background, putting you into a position to drive high impact work - revenue growth. Each Growth Leader’s scope will be different, depending on your market focus and experience. We are tactical but also willing to make some big bets as we drive growth at this stage.

We are transparent with compensation (as well as all other aspects of the business). For 2022, the compensation structure for our Growth Leaders will be as follows:

  • $60K-$75K base compensation

  • Significant upside in equity

  • $250/monthly stipend for technology (internet/mobile phone)

  • Work from home, or wherever, but WORK. We work the way it makes sense.

  • Lots of responsibilities with tons of opportunities for advancement

What you bring

The must have characteristics include:

  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree.

  • A clear passion for career advancement.

  • 2+ years of product development experience shipping high-quality, multi-platform consumer products

  • Product Management specific experience:

    • Experience creating products for users aged 18-33 is a big plus

    • Understanding of the fundamental principles of UI/UX, and have a discerning eye for visual aesthetics

    • Experience in shipping software products using agile methods, running sprints with engineers, product designers, and data scientists

    • Experience developing, orchestrating, and analyzing user research studies

    • Experience in shaping long-term roadmaps for product cycle

    • Expertise with defining, tracking, and analyzing KPIs (familiarity with reporting platforms, SQL a plus)

    • Strong analytical skills with solid data wrangling skills, ability to create data stories and reports

    • Strong social platform experience including LinkedIn, Snapchat, Facebook, Tiktok to help build a social component to Archer

    • Experience in gaming (preferred) as we’d like to gamify Archer for our students and early career professionals

  • High confusion tolerance and can work successfully in an environment of high ambiguity, with limited direction or by seeking out the direction you need.

  • Extreme empathy, optimism, encouraging, but kick-in-the-ass style - with origins in career coaching, we are 100% the champion for our clients. Sometimes we hug, sometimes, we deliver tough messages. You need to easily move through these styles.

  • Creative. We like to try things, pilot, be bold, be fun! You must be willing to say, “I tried it, it did not work! But, here is what I would do with the lessons learned.”

  • Clear, structured, and rigorous approach to work - you will need to track your activity using a CRM approach. We are nimble but we value process.

  • Strong, demonstrated interest in technology and its application to our business.

  • Excellent proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and software applications including Invision, Tableau, Squarespace/Wordpress, project management software (we use Basecamp), etc.

  • Strong and proactive communication skills, you won’t sit back, you will ask questions, share ideas, seek out clarity, update/inform the team - and do so both directly (by phone) and in writing (email or other).

  • Interest in working with a small team to contribute to our success, sharing and learning together, celebrating our success(es) and discussing our lessons learned.

Additional qualifications we believe helpful in this role:

  • Background/knowledge of one or more of the following: strategy (consulting or corporate), product management, product marketing, general management, investment banking, brand management, marketing, recruiting/executive search, business operations, policy, and other roles that are broad/problem solving-oriented.

  • Prior work doing coaching/mentoring/career advising, recruiting, or other career-focused activity.

  • Experience working in higher education, in education technology is also ideal.

Step 3 // Either an offer or a follow-up meeting with Archer Career’s CEO.
